Arriving at Schiphol airport Participants arriving at Schiphol airport can use taxi, train, or airport shuttle services to go to their hotels. A map of Schiphol airport can be found here or alternatively, here.
Taxi Taxi’s are available in front of the terminal. Participants travelling together might wish to reserve a Schiphol travel taxi here. Note the “Schiphol taxi” is cheapest when you book before arrival (about €34). Some taxi’s may charge as much as €60-70 for a single fare. In general €40 - €45 is about a right price for a fare to the city centre (Amsterdam Advisor).
Train Schiphol train station is located beneath Schiphol airport. The trip takes 15 minutes on average. Participants going to the Mercure Amsterdam Aan de Amstel hotel get off at either ‘Station Zuid-WTC’ or ‘Station RAI’ and take a metro 50 (direction “Gein”) or 51 (direction “Centraal Station”) and exit at metro station ‘Overamstel’ (2 stops from ‘Station Zuid-WTC’; 1 stop from ‘Station RAI’). From there it is a short walk to the hotel.
A train ticket from Schiphol to either ‘Station Zuid’ or ‘Station Rai’ costs €2,50 for a single fare.

Airport shuttle You can take the Connexxion Schiphol Hotel Shuttle service to the Mercure Amsterdam aan de Amstel hotels. A single fare is €16. More information can be found here.
IAmsterdamCard Participants who wish to make the most of their stay in Amsterdam may consider purchasing an IAmsterdamCard which functions as a free public transport card (not in the train) and gives free or discounted access to a variety of attractions. The card can be purchased online, at Schiphol airport, and at several locations in Amsterdam. More infromation can be found on the website.
